Marriage Care is about to enter a period of significant and exciting change.  A number of board members are coming to the end of their two, three-year terms which means that there will be four trustee vacancies to fill which include the role of Chair of Trustees and Chair of the Finance Committeealongside two general trustee positions.  Traditionally, trustees have been sought from within the volunteer membership and the role of Chair in particular has been filled from within the existing board of trustees.  However, the board have decided, given the skills and experience needed at this time, to widen the opportunity to all volunteers, and beyond through contacts and networks known to the membership.

Trustees must be fully committed to Marriage Care’s ethos and values, to contributing time and energy for at least a three-year term, and to working together with a team of trustees to provide good governance and support to the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team. There are particular requirements for the role of Chair detailed in the relevant role description and person specification.

Please take a moment to consider whether you have the required skills, experience and capacity to fulfil the trustee roles advertised or whether you know someone outside of Marriage Care who you think would be an ideal match.  Your encouraging tap on the shoulder may make all the difference in helping us find trustees that will enable Marriage Care to flourish and grow into the future.

Should you wish to apply, please read carefully the information contained on Marriage Care’s website at send in a completed application form, CV and cover letter clearly demonstrating how you consider your skills and experience meet the person specification and what is motivating you to apply. If you know someone who you think might have the requisite skills, experience and motivation then please let them know of this opportunity.  The closing date for this initial round of applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 22nd April 2014.  Shortlisting will be concluded by 25th April and interviews will take place by arrangement during May.

If you or someone you know would like an informal discussion about the role please do get in touch with Mark Molden, Chief Executive, National Support Team, Bishops Park House, 25/29 Fulham High Street   London   SW6 3JH. T +44 (0)20 3747 9680 E
