International Colloquium
Lay Perspectives on Marriage and the Family

November 15 -16, 2013

The Bishops’ Conference Committee for Marriage and Family Life has 10 bursaries available to facilitate participation from England and Wales in an international colloquium entitled: Intolerable Dissent or Overdue Emancipation: Lay Perspectives on Marriage and the Family which will take place at the Catholic University of Leuven, 15-16 November, 2013.

These bursaries are available to diocesan marriage and family ministry coordinators, theologians, students of theology, and others involved in marriage and family ministry in parishes, schools, deaneries, dioceses and lay associations across the Catholic Church in England and Wales. Bursaries amount to £350 and will cover the registration fee of £43, leaving £303 to cover costs of travel and accommodation. Bursaries will be paid only on receipt of completed expense claim forms supported by proof of payment. Expenses for meals, other than the conference dinner, will not be covered.

Successful applicants must arrange their own travel and accommodation and commit to providing by January 31, 2014, a publishable summary c500-750 words of their key learning and any recommendations for the Committee arising from the colloquium. Completion of two brief evaluation forms will also be expected: one immediately after the conference and one in November 2014.

Applications are invited in the form of a brief curriculum vitae accompanied by a statement of 500 -750 words describing how the applicant envisages the experience will benefit their professional development and their ministry/mission within the Church in England and Wales.
