familias.jpgThroughout March FAMILIAS (the Association for Catholic Diocesan Marriage and Family Life Ministry) will be hosting workshops across England and Wales to raise awareness of young suicide and introduce the work of PAPYRUS, a national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. PAPYRUS offers confidential advice and support to young people and helps others to prevent young suicide by campaigning, working with and training professionals.

The workshops, led by Ged Flynn, Chief Executive of PAPYRUS, will:

 examine our attitudes to and beliefs about suicide
 explore what causes stigma around suicide
 increase awareness of the scale of young suicidal ideation and behaviours
 develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes which may help prevent young suicide
 think about developing local responses in our own dioceses, parishes, schools, communities, networks and organisations to help to #saveyounglives

A light lunch will be provided and entry is free for FAMILIAS Members, Associates and Friends. All other participants are invited to make a £10 donation. Booking is essential. The events will be held at the following locations:-
