The Catholic Grandparents Association (CGA) will be formally launched in England and Wales at a special event at Westminster Cathedral Hall on Friday 9th May 2014. Catherine Wiley, founder of the CGA, will be speaking at the event which will be attended by a number of diocesan bishops, representatives from other national associations and grandparents from local groups and parishes. For more information about the launch please contact Katherine Bergin, CGA National Coordinator on 01293 651152 firstname.lastname@example.org
In a press release issued on 29th April, Catherine Wiley said ‘It is wonderful that we are now able to add England and Wales to the growing list of countries that see the real need to both value and support grandparents in their important role of supporting their families in the development of their faith journey. The CGA was conceived in England at Our Lady’s Shrine in Walsingham and that will continue to be the Association’s spiritual home.’
The CGA, whose mission is to keep prayer at the heart of the family and to support grandparents in passing on their faith, has been working in dioceses across the country supporting the growth of individual parish groups and a number of pilgrimages including those to the Shrines at Aylesford and Walsingham.
