‘Times of Challenge and Distress – God is with us’ – 18 to 20 July 2017

This residential retreat is for all those involved in Mental Health Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care. It will be held at Douai Abbey, Upper Woolhampton, Reading, Berkshire and led by Bishop Richard Moth, Liaison Bishop for Mental Health. A few places are still available. Spirituality, Compassion and Mental Health Conference – 11 July 2017 (9.30am to 4.30pm)

This University of Huddersfield conference is open to all health and social care professionals, community and voluntary sector workers, service users and carers. The conference aims to provide participants with an understanding of the concepts and practice of spirituality and compassion, as well as its importance in Mental Health. Keynote speakers include: Dr Rowan Williams, former Archbishop of Canterbury, Fiona Venner, Chief Executive of Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Service, Wilf McSherry, Professor of Dignity in Care at Staffordshire University and Kevin Bond, former Chief Executive of NAVIGO.
