Caroline Dollard has been appointed to the post of Family Catechesis Development Worker at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. The role has been created to promote a broader understanding and appreciation of the evangelising role and mission of the Christian family. Caroline will be working to develop a national catechetical framework to support diocesan and parish ministry in serving the lifelong faith formation needs and responsibilities of couples and families. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, not least as a member of the Executive for the RCIA Network, committee member within the Bishops’ Conference Department for Liturgy and Worship, Chair of the Society of St Gregory (the national liturgical society), member of the Adult Adviser Network and as the Celebrating Family project worker in the Diocese of Middlesbrough until 2012.
Caroline hopes that the fruits of the role will be for families themselves. “All families hold within them so much dignity and potential. I would like to see our parishes and schools being as well equipped as possible, so they can see and respond to the needs of families. It is exciting that this work, building on the previous years of the Passing on the Faith project, will be going on in the context of the synods on the role and ministry of families.”
Caroline will be working three days a week until March 2017 and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07807 106441
