Katherine is married with 4 children. She has worked for the Diocese of Arundel & Brighton as Marriage and Family Life adviser since 2011 but has spent much of her working life as a teacher in a variety of Catholic schools. Katherine is the FAMILIAS Southern Region Representative on the Bishops’ Committee for Marriage and Family Life.

Margaret is married with two grown up children and has worked for the Diocese of Wrexham as Marriage and Family Life Coordinator since 2011. Before that she worked in healthcare and has been a State Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Margaret is the FAMILIAS Northern Region Representative on the Bishops’ Committee for Marriage and Family Life.

Elizabeth has over 30 years’ experience in facilitating marriage preparation courses, and with her late husband spent 13 years as Marriage & Family Life Coordinator for the Kent Pastoral Area. Elizabeth still works for the Southwark Marriage & Family Life Team in the areas of faith and bereavement. She has extensive experience in general counselling and bereavement ministry and with her late husband experienced 2 years in the foreign missions and 4 years in community with the Augustinians.

Anitra is newly appointed as the Marriage and Family Life Co-ordinator in the Diocese of Clifton and has been involved in this ministry for a couple of years, which began when she was recruited to run a project funded by the Celebrating Family Fund to build and train teams within parishes to prepare parents for the baptism of their children. Anitra has been married to Chris for 36 years and has four grown-up children.

Lianne took up the position of full-time Family Ministry Worker for the Archdiocese of Birmingham in January 2017. She is married with two children and prior to her appointment spent 8 years as the Pastoral Assistant in her home parish.

Bishop Peter Doyle has responsibility at the Bishops’ Conference for pastoral care of marriage and family life. Peter is Bishop of Northampton. He also chairs the Bishops’ Committee for Marriage & Family Life.

Caroline joined the Bishops’ Conference as the Family Catechesis Development Worker in March 2014 and was subsequently appointed as Marriage & Family Life Adviser in January 2017. She has wide experience in retreat work and formation of catechists for ministry with children and adults.

Hannah is married with three children. She joined the Bishops’ Conference in 2010 as Communications and Project Adviser and was appointed as Marriage & Family Life Adviser in January 2017. Prior to that she worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and in the recruitment and travel industries.

Joanne is married and mother to two grown up daughters. She has been employed by the Archdiocese of Cardiff on a part-time paid basis, since July 2008, first as the Parenting Support Worker; a role that has since developed into the role of Family Life Worker (FLW) and which includes responsibilities as the diocesan Marriage & Family Life Co-ordinator. Joanne has been a member of the FAMILIAS Executive in the past, including performing the role of Treasurer for three years. Joanne took on the role of FAMILIAS Administrator in November 2018.
Role of the FAMILIAS Executive:
- To formulate policy of the Association for approval by a simple majority of full members
- To propose fees for membership and associate membership; draft a budget for the approval of members and make payments on behalf of the Association
- To propose alterations to the constitution, for submission to members for agreement by a two-thirds majority
- Set up and manage resource databases
- Organise national meetings of Marriage & Family Life Coordinators
- Consider and seek opinions from all members, through their regional steering group representatives, regarding action on proposals made by members
- Set up and maintain records of members and associate members
- Be a contact point for the media and represent the Association externally
