Thank you to Gail Sainsbury (Catholic Bishops’ Mental Health Project), for sharing the following information with us.

The Holy Year of Mercy begins on 8th December 2015 and a pre-Christmas retreat will be held at Boarbank Hall, Cumbria from 4th- 6th December 2015 entitled ‘The Year of Mercy: Sickness and Compassion.’ The retreat will help participants prepare for the coming year by reflecting especially on caring for the sick, one of the traditional corporal works of mercy. The retreat is led led by Dr Karen Groves, a palliative care consultant from Southport who is experienced in teaching healthcare professionals to communicate well about spiritual care and care at the end of life; Fr Dixie Taylor, a Salford diocesan priest and Boarbank Hall resident, who has taught Scripture and theology in many countries, and Sr Margaret Atkins, an Augustinian Sister of the Boarbank Community and former university lecturer, with a special interest in ethics.

For enquiries and bookings please email Sr Margaret [email protected] or for more information visit: www.boarbankhall.org.uk
