Family Ministry Project Worker

Archdiocese of Birmingham; Maryvale Institute

Full-time; Fixed-term

The Archdiocese of Birmingham wishes to appoint a full-time Family Ministry Project Worker to support and develop the work of family catechesis and ministry to families in the parishes of the Archdiocese. The appointment will be from 1st January 2017, initially on a two-year contract but with the possibility of extension.

The post will be based at Maryvale Institute in Birmingham, but will involve substantial travel around the Archdiocese. Applicants should have their own transport and be prepared to work unsocial hours as needed.

Applicants should be practising Roman Catholics with a sound understanding of the Church’s teaching in the area of marriage of family life, and some experience of catechesis and/or other pastoral ministry. First class interpersonal skills and the capacity to take initiatives and work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
